Very nice Picture of that fine looking fish killing machine. I hope to be able to help put some blood in your boat Rod this year.

Hmmm, now I'm a bit concerned. Looks like kind of a small fish to bring in through the door.

Maybe practicing for the Tuna!

The east wind blew in the morning, but at tide change it just stopped.
We went out to thro some pots in and we will go get them this morning. Probably go get another load of bottom fish also. Yesterday we got our lings and maybe 12 other assorted things.

Definantly a wierd year....we were sweating and just wearing tee shirts. I just went outside 3am and there is no wind, and no roaring from the surf....Looking good!

Thanks for the pics Wak.

If I didn't know better, I would say that pic was taken in the middle of June, not February!

Peace Tom

With only 2 guys on this boat, who is paying for the fuel bill? I have heard that boat gets 2 gallons per mile, yes, 0.5 miles per gallon.

Either the boat sales business is better than I thought, or Skeins retirement, with his wife working is a pretty sweet deal.

What a nice day to be on the water.

I wasn't as easy as it appears.

For example, my shoulder is sore from pulling up fish, and DipSea Diver doesn't seem concerned. I asked her to rub it, but I can't tell you what she said. (Moderator stuff)

And of course there was the sheer risk of the whole endeavor. We were taking a "maiden voyage" with all the inherent risks of that, plus we had no way of knowing that we would have enough fuel to get safely back into the harbor. Not only that, Rod's gps system was trying to talk us into steering about 260 degrees, even though we told it to head us toward the number 1 bouy. It was a scary time.

So while you guys were safe at work, thinking we were bobbing around on perfect seas and catching fish after fish, we were actually much closer to harm's way than you can imagine. Especially when I asked for a shoulder rub. (but I said that already, didn't I)

We missed you all and sincerely wished you were with us.

For some reason those pictures really don't show the 5 ft. chop and 8 ft. swells we were battling.

The boat performed flawlessly, the ocean was amazing, the whales welcomed us with a couple of tail waves the first day, a sea lion jumped and darted around the back of the boat as we fished, for what reason I'll never know, and the fish all but jumped in the cooler.

Have I ever told you how much I love the salt?
