Default Walleye Guide

My Dad is coming out in June for my graduation and we want to hire a guide on the Columbia. We are both very experienced walleye fisherman and would like to target the big fish east of here, any reccomendations?

Dick O'Brien used to be "the man" but sadly, he passed away last year. Fly by night guide service is highly recommended. I think he fishes the Rufus area usually. Best bet is to go to the Sportsman show in Feb. Meet and talk to the guys and book a trip. I think you may do best with a guide who works the Boardman/ Irrigon area. Ed Iman is good. He fishes that area and will be at the show. If you need another seat to fill the boat, let me know, I'm always ready to learn more from the pros.

Talk with Rod or Laura at High Desert Marine in Hermiston. They put on most of the Walleye tourneys, and could give you some great info, and local guides for big fish. Merry Christmas

We went with Touche Fly By Nite guide service. We had booked with Dick at the sportsman show. Dicks wife gave touche the unpleasent job of contacting all his clinets. In doing so he offered the same deal. Very nice person. He fished the rufus area also. AAA+++

Kurt Sonderman, from Hermiston Oregon. He uses a no fish - no pay approach in his guided trips.

We went with Don Schneiders Reel Adventures last april and I was not impressed. He was unsociable, had sub par equipment, and it was not a fun trip. So if you looking, I'd steer clear of him. Its not all about catching fish, the expirience has to be there too.

I give Alan Touche Clark (Fly Bye Night) two thumbs up. He is a great guy and fun to be around.

Reel adventure is also a great guy to fish with. I wander if he may have been just off that day. when I fished wiht him it was a great trip that took me litterally a week to recover from it. HE was a great teacher who really taught me the section of the river I wanted to learn. It was that type of trip more than a see how many fish we could catch. we did wind up with lots of fish and actually called the trip early because we were worn out before noon. This was on over size sturgeon.
