Default Oh What a Day

Well ... it's time for a fishing report other than steelhead don't ya think? Anyway, a good buddy and my son went up to Green Pea today and had an awesome day. No wind...rain and only two other boats. Trout were jumping everywhere and even they were biting. We caught a half a dozen of those up to 14 inches while fishing for bass. As far as bass go we landed in the neighborhood of 30 fish. Nothing huge but had to take my son out as he was out from Ohio and wanted to do some rip lippin. All in all we had an awesome blessing from above. Even my new jigs did their job. Tight lines.

Your killing me Wannabe!

I put my bass boat to bed a month ago. Now I guess Im going to have to get it out (along with the chains) and come visit you. Great job Keep the posts coming. By the way, what was the water temp? Not that it matters on a 30 fish day. WOW!!!

Good place to fish any time. One of our back ups. Takes us about 1 1/4 to Detroit or to Green Peter to fish and both have decent year round fishing.

I've been working on a new spinner bait I wanted to try out down there.

Have a great week all.

Green Pea is one of those places where you can fish 12 months of the year. Yes, at times you are launching in a little snow but this is usually not the case. The water temp was staying in the 48 almost everywhere we went and didn't vary to much as we didn't go way up the rivers, and the small side cuts really didn't have much of a flow coming in. We found fish anywhere from 10 to 30. Did not fish a lot of real deep fish as just felt like burning bank and checking things out. Had to try out the jigs I've been working on and to say the least was ever so pleased. Also drop shottin a watermelon candy Yum Dinger when I saw fish on the finder was satisfying. I mean it was so cool...see fish...catch fish. Anyway was a Merry Christmas present to me!!! Tight Lines

I have been itchin' so I guess there's only one thing to do. See you on the water! By the way...I believe the color is coming soon! Thanks.

I'm sorry Wannabe but I didn't catch the color of trailer you were using on those "killer jigs" of yours. I'm glad to hear something other than steelies being caught although I did try the other day and realized that I would have rather enjoyed being out chasing bass instead! (I got it bad!) woo-hoo!!!

Did spend 1/2 a day cleaning the garage..worth it. And the trailor of choice was once again a Yum in green pumpkin. Just took a pause from tying jigs to check out IFISH. Going to try the steelie thing this friday to get my fix and then it'll be back up there. When there's snow forcast around a 1000 feet steelheadin is a bit safer. Real depressing to have your trailor in your side window.

Fridays report...headed towards Seaside. Took three hours to get to the river due to four wheel drive went out in the truck so put on chains. They came off three times and then the fourth time they broke just before getting to the river!! Fishing was good and the weather for most of the day was good to. Even though I enjoy the aspects of warmwater more it was enjoying hiking down the river and seeing if I could catch a steelie. Ended up with four on and landed all. Did keep only one as wanted to keep fishing.
Might of have been kinda rough getting up to Green Peter in the boat.
