Default Which Holster

a friend of mine and I like to do alot of hiking..not really on established trails. We like to walk the woods of columbia county and all over the place.

For protection, from animals and anything else we might stumble on we're going to start carrying.
The pistol im going to purchas *I hope* will be a glock .40

Have any of you carried these while outdoors? and if you have what is the best holster you have found for this?

We were thinking maybe a drop holster..

thanks !

I carry a glock .40 and whin I go back packing in the back woods i use 1 of 2 holsters. One is a Don humes and one is a galco jit slide. They both hold tight to your body and do not alow the weapon to fall out. They are very secure.

I like the paddle holsters for my Glock 17. It comes off quickly without taking my belt off. I really like the Forbus over others I tried because the paddle can rotate over a series of detents to adjust for the perfect angle. For example, you can switch to crossdraw for the car. The best part, They only cost around $25.

Uncle Mikes is durable and does not cost a lot. I use one for the outdoors. It works good. You can buy them just about anywhere.
