My fishing buddy and I are headed to Potholes for a five day fishathon. I hear the walleye fishing has really picked up and that both smallmouth and largemouth fishing is good, but we really wanted to get into some serious perch and or crappie fishing. Has anyone done well on these species there recently? Any advise? Also how about Moses Lake and Soda lake? We will go wherever it takes to find some good perch and crappie fishing. Thanks for the help!
I'm hoping to head up there in a week or so myself. My buddies up there fish off the dam (Potholes) for crappie and tend to do pretty well. I've seen pics of the perch HUGE. I'm gonna give them a shot also. If it was me I'd start out fishing off the bottom in 30ft of water (off a sandy shore)if I could find it.
Go back into the potholes for the perch and try a small 1/16 white or chartuse jig with some perch meat on it. Last year we liked that more than the duck hunting.
