Default Eagle Lakes Ranch

I am spending the weekend @ Eagle Lakes Ranch out side of Othello Washington in May. I am curious if any other Ifishers have spent any time there? And what they thought of the time spent there?

It appears to have great walleye and bass fishing.

I don't know if it's the same place but years ago I fished Eagle lake with my grandfather out of Othello. We caught hundreds of perch, crappie, bluegill and bass. The perch ranged from 12" to 18". The crappie ranged from 9" to 15". The bass were huge ranging from 4lbs to over 10lbs. We would start with a colorado spinner (chrome) with what my grandfather called an english hook. We used a 1" piece of pork rind strip (yellow on top, white on the bottom). After we caught a perch, we would scale the belly and cut a long piece about 1 1/2" long (fat on one end narrow on the other) put the meat side down. This bait was very tough and stayed on long. We trolled along the edges of the lake and did very well by the large rock walls. For the bass we used spinner bait, 4" rapala minnors black back chrome sides and U20 red flatfish. We fished the lilly pads for them. We also shot Jack rabbits and coyotes there. What a blast for kids. We never saw or hooked any walleye but there was alot of carp in the lake. If this is the place, you should do good.

Yep, the lakes are home to HUGE bass!!! Some of the largest, and most concentrated amount of big bass in the state. I haven't stayed at the lodge, but I've heard it's "first cabin". You should have a nice time!

I used to fish there a few years back, before the resort was built. It was great fishing for walleyes, either pulling spinners/worms or casting jigs (best seemed to be a chartreuse pepper double-tail with a crawler). I don't know which lakes you have access to while staying at the ranch, but if you find out and PM me I can give you a few spots if it's the right lake.
