Default Anyone been to Brownlee Res lately?

Starting Wed. I just realized I have a week off. So I might get to fish Brownlee one more time this year. Anyone been there lately?

Damon, I haven't heard any fishing reports for Brownlee lately but when I drove by the upper end (I-84) this past weekend, the water was real low. Would guess that ramps down lake (Hewitt/Powder River Arm out of Richland, OR, and Woodhead Park near the dam on Idaho side might still be usable).

Crappie Chaser (Gary Gorbet) is a guide out of Richland and he is a good source of information and advice even if you don't go out with him(fishbrownlee@pinetel.com)(541-893-6863). Top notch fellow - I've really enjoyed my time with Gary and it has been very helpful in preparing me to take on new areas on my own. He told me that September was usually a very good time to find large numbers of bass and crappie to catch. They start congregating on rocky points and slopes, fattening up for the winter months. If Team Moose Drool wasn't headed over to Sekiu, WA this week for several days salmon fishing you can bet I'd be checking out Brownlee.

Please post a report after your trip.

Good luck.

Dean

We are still able to launch at Hewitt Park.Fishing is getting into the fall pattern.Last Wed. my party caught 97 panfish, mostly crappie with a few big bluegill and some perch. The crappie are getting real thick across the back, typical for fall.On Sat. a cold wind slowed fishing down.We caught 60 but it was a real light bite.Lots of bass fishermen lately and most of them were catching Saturday.Catfishing is real good.
