Portland Boat Show Reports??
For those of you who braved the elements and crowds what's your take on the show this year? Your observations/experiences would be appreciated and may influence my decision to make the drive. Thanks!

Re: Portland Boat Show Reports??
Just got back. Sleds as far as the eye can see. Looks like the "offshore" style of boat is becoming more popular too. Saw the "new" northriver/almar. Very nice. Customweld had some screamin' deals too. $7.00 is a little much for parking though.

Re: Portland Boat Show Reports??
Not as good as last year as far as "big" boats are concerned. Lot's of sleds. I found one I liked... maybe its time to get a new one... anyone want a killer deal on a sled with every option that knows how to catch fish???

Re: Portland Boat Show Reports??
I thought it was a good show of boats. Maybe its just me but $7.00 parking sucks if I cant catch a fish.

Re: Portland Boat Show Reports??
Went to the boat show to look at all the pretty's. $7 is way too much to park, but what the heck. Wife and girl came along. Was looking at boats in what I thought was the wifes price range when she said she wanted this
I sorta swallowed and said.....Unnhhh, what color. She said, green. So I got me one of these in green for the wife
Free 9.9 4 stroke kicker, lots of other stuff thrown in......anybody wanna go fishin?

You know the same thing happened to me last year when I went to the boat show with my wife. I was looking at boats in the lower price ranges, and all my wife did was poo hoo them. Little did I know that she had already went to the credit union to get pre approved for a loan. When she brought me over to a larger much nicer more expensive boat and asked if I wanted it. All I could do was gasp for air! as my jaw dropped open. Though she didn't have to ask me twice  By the way it's also Green!

Nice !!!
Since the wife bought it for you, does that mean you can quit your job and fish 5 days a week ?
Sweet ride, let me know when it's ready for some fish blood.

Zaq is right,,
$7 is too much to park.
Nice selection and I spent too much buying "toys" for my boat.
Nice way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

Re: Portland Boat Show Reports??
Well, I may be firmly coming over to the dark side.
I have my sailboat for sale in the show. I'm over in the southern-most building. It's a Cal 20 sailboat and there are a lot of them in Portland and the are a ton of fun to race. I'm not in the show as a vendor, but our fleet puts in a display to build membership and help boats trade hands to new members. If I sell my boat, I'll probably get a small sled. Yes, the boat's name is REDBULL. I took the Ifish sticker off for the show however.
I'm set-up kitty corner from Motion Marine where Jay Daly has his new Fight Club sled. Jay ma-man, that is one mean looking maching. It is beautiful!

Re: Portland Boat Show Reports??
We are headed to the Seattle Boat show and they have a good deal on parking. If you buy your tickets on line, you get free parking and 2 magazine subscriptions. I assumed the two shows were put on by the same folks.

Re: Portland Boat Show Reports??
The Oregon State Marine board had a nice education area for kids 8-14 years old on safety. There was also an area and personel to help if you wanted to take the State Boaters exam right there on the spot!
Anyone else like that 30' Seasport with twin diesels?
I guess there are some discout coupons around for the last few days of the show.
