Default 40th Birthday Suggestions?

Anyone have any ideas for celebrating my wifes 40th.

She seems to be ok with turning 40. But you never know how she will feel when the date gets near. I was thinking a trip to Vegas. But maybe a big blow out party would be better.

I don't get it but, I have already been told that a marathon Springer fishing weekend is not an option

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Don't screw this up dude...

The best thing is to organize a surprize party for her with - now read this close- " Her Friends"...

I just did this awhile back for my wife. Invited lots of people I don't really know and some I don't even like but then again it was not about me.. You know, people from her office and stuff like that. Its also a good idea to dig up some "Old Friends"... High school buddies, people she knew when she was a little kid.. stuff like that..

I told her I was taking her out for dinner and she seemed like she was pretty up-set because I was not making a big deal out of it. She went with me and instead of the place I said I was going I rented a dive bar ( bought a couple kegs and opened the bar and had pizza and stuff delivered etc ) All in all it was a blast..

You do her 40th right and she will treat ya like she is 20 later...

Surprise birthday party would be cheaper than Vegas, but its tough to beat Vegas for a 40th birthday. My 40th is in September and my wife has already told me she is taking me to Vegas! Don't blow it off.

I couldn't agree more! A surprise party is the way to go! I did this for my wife's 40th and she loved it. (OK...I got a little milage out of it too). I hired a caterer for "heavy munchies" and two waitresses to pass hor'deourves (sp?)...anyway..Really good stuff. Bought the wine and Beer and hired a bartender....Hey, I wanted to have a good time too. It cost a small fortune, but how often do you turn 40? I even went to a stationary store to get help finding the right Surprise Party invitations, and had them printed.....(a few extra for my wife to keep)....(additional mileage). Go all out, and you won't have to worry about here not letting you go Springer fishing at all. If you do it right she'll be encouraging you to take that Alaskan fishing trip you've always wanted.

Rentt that wierd vehicle that drives and then goes into the water! It picks up everybody at one location and then they drive you around and then they drive into the river.
I'm sorry to tell you that I don't know WHERE or WHO to ask about it because the friend that did it for his wife 3-4 years ago has moved away.
Maybe a boating marina would know?

Take her to that cool restaurant in Carver (gotta make reservations) and have a silky Victoria Secret gift ready when both of you get home.

Have no clue but if it was me I would listen to the women. Last time I thought I undestood a women I found my clothes in the driveway. At he end of the day just be sincere with your thoughts and feelings and you will be OK.

If you make her feel like she is the most important thing in your life and that you appreciate and respect her you will be fine. The rest will all be a bonus.

When Pilar asked me what I wanted to do for my 40th - big party or a romantic getaway, I said, "YES!"

He arranged a surprise party/TUNA!holics meeting at Santana's in Beaverton. Gosh! There must have been over 100 people there... some I didn't even know! But it was a blast. And it was no-host, so there wasn't much of a cost. He recruited my girlfriends to decorate the place, so he didn't have to worry about all that.

Then he whisked me off to Cabo for the weekend... We left on my actual b-day, he made me choose a restaurant for dinner in Mexico... When we got there, he ordered champagne and proposed.

Best 40th b-day I ever had!

His 45th was the following day and he'd booked a charter for Marlin fishing. Just us on a big, beautiful boat, on the big, beautiful ocean, in pursuit of big, beautiful fish.

Best 45th b-day he ever had!

Now I understand that you're already married, but why not ask her all over again? Very romantic, y'know!

My daughter now tells me on just about a daily basis that she can't wait to turn 40!
