Default sad reminder

Just heard some very sad news from the grade school here in town. The 3 year-old sister of a couple of students was found dead after getting tangled in the straps of a backpack hung on the post of a bunkbed.

Please, if you have young kids, check for this kind of hazard. It would be so easy to not even think of something this devastating resulting from something as innocent as hanging a backpack on a bed post. Also check your mini-blind cords.

Very sad, sorry to hear that, the ropes on blinds can do the same thing. I cut mine so it can't happen.

oooh, I remember being at the beach and our little boy around 2 at the time was playing over by the drapes.....the cord got tangled around his neck and he tripped and if we werent there he would of strangled. This hurts to see. But, on the brighter side, the little 3 year old will go to heaven without having the dirt on her feet which we all gather over our lifetime. And this we can be thankful for.

Really sad thing is, a few years ago they lost another baby shortly after birth from a heart defect.

There was a toddler here in longview a few weeks ago that got strangled by a blind chord :depressed:.I guess the reason I pay attention to these missfortunate accedents,is because I work with window blinds, repairs, cleaning, and retail, and by law all blinds sold must have either a break away tassle,or be not even conected in the first place. But sadly nearly every blind I service has had the chords tied together(some pretty interesting knots too).So I spend alot of time untieing these knots, please ppl quit tieing them together, especialy if you have a small child in the house.
