Default How many HP in a 80#thrust MinnKota?

Trying to decide between electric or gas on driftboat application.

I was thinking the same thing.

But since I have a 9.9 kicker I figures I could just add a 12V 32lb minnkota and run boat and use the electric to keep the boat strait while side drifting down river and Fire up the Johnson to get back up!

Duals on a drift boat.. who says it cant be done!

I just couldnt afford the 74lb set up with batteries!

I belive 17 lb. thrust per 1 hp is the correct conversion. So, about 4.7.
