Default Umpqua near Roseburg for smallies?

Taking the family to Roseburg this weekend for the Wildlife Safari and was wondering if this part of the Umpqua is any good bass fishing?

I sure see alot of reports about the smallies on this river!!

Any input would be great!

Thanks

I've heard that the South Umpqua has smallmouth, but have never fished it. That would be closest to Wildlife Safari. The main Umpqua near Elkton is loaded with them

There are lots of places to fish for Smallies on the Umpqua east of Sutherlin. Being a new resident down here, I just look for a spot along the road with access to the river. Been going almost everyday after work and have yet to try a new spot that didn't have fish. Great stress relief at the end of the day!
