Tube flies
Its that time again. The George Fox Bruin Fly Tying Club will be meeting this Thursday evening(2-20-05) at 7:00 in the maintenance services building at the north end of the soccor field (across the street-Villa Rd- from the pool). The special guest will be Tanya Rooney whose expertise is tube flies. She will talk, demo, etc on whatever she has planned. The last session with Don Nelson-River City Shop- was excellent. Several vises were available so that he could walk several persons through the process of tying the reverse spider presentation-I think that is what it was called. I had never seen it before but it looked like a killer presentation. He says it has achieved very good results. I'm expecting no less from Tanya. Again, I'm sure there will be vises,(there always have been in the past) unless it takes something special, for practicing and following her demo. There are no fees or dues at the door. Open to all who are interested in fly fishing. They have a door prize at the end of the session which consists of a bunch of flies that are dropped in a box (if you choose to bring one-not necessary). Lots of good company and exchanging ideas for fishing. If you happen to be in the area Thursday evening, stop in for a visit. Usually lasts till about 9:00 or whenever you feel like heading home. You can type Tanya Rooney into Google and check her out. I think she is a Portlander with ties to Newberg. I'm looking forward to meeting her and hope to see some of you there. Keep checking this post. If there is a change for some reason, I'll post it here. Happy fishing.
