Tanner,
I seen where you havn't recieved much of an answer here and it may be due to the fact of what you would like to do to the large female bass in one of your posts. (On the cold water side of IFISH)
Anyway I didn't think bass fishermen or at least some bass fishermen were any more aloof than other species chasers, but oh well.
On a last note as far as tourneys...above the falls is usually only to my knowledge fished by clubs and membership is usually required.

Wannabe,
What I said in that post was tongue in cheek. The idea I was trying to get across in that post was the fact that, In My Opiniona great trophy trout fishery has been severely damaged by the introduction of bass and other exotic species.

I fished Cottage Grove Lake a few weeks ago. I caught many nice big females and released all but one. The only reason I kept her was because she was bleeding so bad through the gills. After that, I clipped one hook off of each treble and pinched the barbs.

Point being, I love to bass fish, but there is a place for bass and in my opinion Crane Prairie should not have been selected by a bucket biologist or 2 to be one of those places.

Peace Out.

Point taken....thanks for getting back.
Quite a few fisherman made good points. One thing I find interesting is all the sticklebacks. From what I understand theres a bunch of em in there and their bug eaters. I know in many places bass and trout get along well. I wonder if the bass were gone (they eat the sticklebacks) would the trout really go down too, due to sticklebacks not having any enemy? I've fished many places where fishing for both has been good and they both get along. But it seems that here out west that if it doesn't shine, or delivered in a truck, or bite powerbait it's trash. Tight lines

Wouldnt it be ironic if a trout fisherman "planted" the sticklebacks in CP as a trout food source, and their predation on dragonfly and damsel larvae is the reason for the decline in trout catches? Hmm...I'd sure get a chuckle out of it if that was the case. And maybe give a few people a good recipe for crow. But who knows, right?

I did not ring in on the Crane Prairie thread because to me it seems no matter what is said by either side, there still is no solution. (Not that I don't have an opinion about it..maybe another time). with that aside I would like to address Tanner's original question.

I for one would be willing to get involved in some sort friendly tournament get together on the upper willamette. Apparently there is a group of people who meet on Wednesday nights on the lower willamette. I dont think its a club sponsored event. So why not on the upper?

Bucketmouth,
I would be into that. Anybody else? We could do like a $20.00 buy in per two person team. Winning team takes all. Just think, you all would get a chance to bash me in person.

I for one would be interested in a small tourney! Sounds like a lot of fun! Unfortunately I don`t own a boat, Yet, So have to depend on my surveying/fishing pard to give me a ride in his small aluminum. We have just gotten introduced to Smallie fishin` in the last year, so are still novices at the art, but really enjoy it. Have fished the Willy only from Newberg up. Please make an announcement if you guy`s get something of that nature going! I`ll be reading up nearly every day. Thanx before hand. Fishft.

I wouldn't mind getting in on something like this. I haven't bass fished since I left Florida several years ago, but I still have a couple of bags of Culprit worms and some Tru-turn hooks in the bottom of my tackle box somewhere.

I was thinking about Hebb Park just downstream from the Canby Ferry

Partner and I are hashing it over right now. Never been to Hebb park, but have located it in the Wiily river rec. guide. Will get back to ya on the other thread, hopefully. Thanx. Fishft.
