American Lake (Ft lewis)
My wife and I have stayed at the Ft Lewis Travel Camp on American Lake a couple of times this year. I have fished the lake for bass with a fly rod. I have caught plenty of 4-7" smallies, but nothing bigger. I have tried deeper, shallower, used a larger fly, fished on the surface, etc. (using crowser minnow, black woolly bugger, a home tied pink/white crappie jig, girgle bugs, bitchcreek specials). I keep catching small ones. Anyone have experience with this lake and know what the larger fish like? ...or where they are? :whazzup:
