Default Columbia walleyes at County Line

My wife and I played hooky at work today. We took our son Jake to chase wallys out of Umatilla. Here is a pick of our first four. We caught 2 more after these. 6 walleyes and 2 smallmouths hit our bottom walkers and night crawler harnesses in 18-25 feet of water. It was a beautiful day on the water.

Looks like a lot more fun than working. Good dinner too.

Bassin,
We actually were farther downstream than the picture shows. The county line is on the Oregon side of the river by buoy 72. Pulling bottom walkers and night crawler harnesses is really easy. You free spool till you feel bottom as you troll downstream a little quicker than the current. Once bottom is felt you keep in touch with the bottom by slowly lifting and dropping the bottom walker. We used 1.5 ounces out the rear and two ouncers off the sides. A small silver blade was the best color spinner as it got all the hits over chartreuse and gold. We launched the boat on the Washington side at Plymouth. It is right across from Umatilla below McNary Dam.
