LARGE are In charge
Put the float tube in Hagg last night with my smack talkin buddy! He did indeed put on a clinic on the large mouth! We hit them on lots of stuff, Grubs, spinnerbaits and buzz baits.. the mosquitos are man-sized there... so beware!

Hey Fast acts! Where were you hittin` em at? If`n you don`t mind. Am heading up there on Sat.(early). Have never caught a largemouth, so am kind of a novice in that area of expertise. All help would be appreciated. Thanx ahead of time. Fishft.

Go up to any of the inlets at the far end of the lake. I was in grassy- weed water. If you have float tube go in the middle of the weeds and toss a grub. Use small lead heads, I bet top water rapala's or poppers would kill'm!

Re: LARGE are In charge
Hey Fast acts! Thanx for the info! Sounds like the same areas I picked up some smallies last time I was there. Was using 4" & 6" watermelon lizards, Tex rigged. Hooked what I think was a largie on a purple brushhog, it was big! Whatever it was, I only had it on for a few secs and never saw it. It sure ripped some 8# maxima outa my reel in a hurry though! Yah, we`ll be in a small 16' aluminum, so should be able to sneak into those places without too much trouble. Will send in a report on Mon. If there is anything to tell. Thanx again mon. Fishft.

Re: LARGE are In charge
Welp, got to Hagg too late in the morn, sat. Cloudy but pretty bright. Fished the weeds with little success. One small yeller perch & two small smallies all day. Threw mostly plastic lizards, but a few crankbaits. Saw a couple nice largies caught on nightcrawlers from the bank in the main inlet. But still better than sittin` at home all day. Probably will start hittin` the Willamette from now on till we figure out where to go during low water conditions. Any suggestions? Thanx. Fishft.

Re: LARGE are In charge
Hey M bass! Try putting in at Rodgers landing in Newberg and hitting any likely looking spots up or down stream. We`ve hit them all over the place. Got one about 5 lb. or so just below the ramp there a while back, but the river has dropped so much it`s hard to tell if they are still holding in the same places. Anyway, good luck! Fishft.
