Default Brownlee Report

NOTE: I originally posted this on the main page.

I fished Brownlee on the 23rd while headed to a family reunion in Idaho. If you fish the mouth of the arm that comes in there by Huntington with cut bait, you will catch all tha catfish you care to eat. I used smelt bellies at first, and they worked best but fresh crappie filets worked better. Steelhead gear is ideal, but the heat is truly oppressing. I have never fished there for more than a few hours because of the heat and the fact that we always have Idaho trips in July or August. This fall I am deer hunting in Owyhee so I may make it over there during the cool weather. I found a place where 10" crappie were taking my jig every cast. I probably c&r'ed 100 in less than an hour.
