Default AQUA-VU HELP?????

Hey guys, my wife is insisting on buying me an Aqua veiw for my birthday, though I try to talk her out of it- hehe. Does anyone have any comments about which features are important? cable lenght? temperature? direction? what about the other brands that are cheaper? what about ethics?? thanks!!!!!!

I have the Aqua-vue with the 60' cable B/W LCD. It has the temperature on it but not the depth.

One thing I do know is the first night I took it out was at Hagg Lake and for 3 hours I never picked up a fishing pole. Me head was looking at the camera the whole time. I think it is great to cross reference what your electronics are telling you. I have become more confidence with what my depth finders are telling me. It is also nice to hook a camcorder and record what you see down there!

It is fun! But hard to use when you want to fish. You pretty much have to decied on one or the other!

Here is some footage of Hagg Lake with some bluegill and a bass.

get as many beads as you can afford. The more you have the better your resolution.

I bought the 60 footer and I returned it for the 120' unit. I am very glad I got the longer one.

you can build one for about $100.00 if you are not so sure you want one.

Cameras are available on ebay for about $80 for a waterproof camera with 60' of cable and $20 for a b/w tv monitor at Fred meyers.

thanks so much for the posts- I really would have loved to see that video but couldn't play it- arrrrggghhhhh! I have never looked through and underwater camera before. Good to know about the 120' cable. That is the second person that has said this and the first time I kind of blew it off but won't, now.

For more info, you might try speaking with Gary Waterhouse at Great American Tackle in Clackamas. He owns them, rents them, uses them and will be free with advice.

Well guys, I ordered mine today- I am actually the one who posted this topic- just didn't realize that de-bander had been on my 'puter. I got the one with the multi-colored lights which is supposed to be great in low-light, even though they say you should turn the lights off whenever possible. I got temp and 120' so thanks to you guys for the help. I have never tried one before so I can't wait to check it out. Thanks, again, everyone!!!! Dave
