Not much for a report, just thought I'd give a heads up. My club will be there Sat. and Sunday. so expect around 20 to 25 boats out there along with ya. This is the one tourney I really look forward to except getting up at 3:30am.

Think deep.

Thinking of heading to Crane Prairie in a week or so, how far is it from PDX?
We have never been there before, what are the campgrounds like? Do we need to make Res., is it a private campground? Is there a store nearby? A brief description of the campgrounds would really be helpful. My wife isn't really into camping but she said she would go if it was a nice clean place, is it? For a repeat performance with the wife going camping, I really need to make this one good. OH, bugs, how are the bugs?
Which boat launch and or campground shall we stay at?
Can someone report on the tourney this weekend, really like to know what baits to bring for bass.

PD, I'm betting you can make it to Crane in 3 hours or so from Portland. Its always worth the drive.
There are tons of camping places. The most developed is the Crane Prairie Resort, on the southwest side of the lake. You can get full hookups, tent camping spots, a nice boat ramp, and the lodge itself has groceries and some tackle. Rock Creek and Quinn River are campgrounds right off of Cascade Lakes Hwy. They are very clean but dont have hookups. Another option is staying at a motel in Lapine. Lots of bassers go that route, its about a 30 minute drive to the lake. Bugs can be bad but its hit and miss. As warm as its been staying I'd wager that they will be around.
If you have a big boat you'll want to launch at the resort or at rock creek. Smaller ones can be launched there or at Quinn River, or in the dam channel.

Hagen whats the story on your tourney? I doubt it was as good as your Dorena weekend!
