Default Drop shotting with slinkies

OK,
I am brand new to this drop shotting thing. I have a good idea of how to do it and am going to go haome tonight and practice tying rigs.

My question. Have any of you ever tried drop shotting with slinkies? It seems like that would decrease your chance of getting hung up. What do you prefer to use for weights when drop shotting?

Its really hard to beat the drop shot weights on the market. If you snag you break off at the weight and put another one on.

One vote against slinkies - Its good to use tungsten and lead because you can feel what you're dragging on. Slinkies wont do that, nor can you fish them as slow as lead.

If you're going for smallies tie on a jig head with a grub as your drop shot weight and double your pleasure
