Default Cottage Grove Res. Tips

Looking for some advice. I am going to be spending 5 days camped at Cottage Grove reservoir next week and plan on fishing it hard. I have done well in the evenings fishing topwater in the shallower grass flats on the SE end of the lake (right across form the boat ramp by the camping area. But I always have a hard time finding the fish during the day. Any help would be appreciated.

I am also looking forward to catching some of the monster crappie that are in there. Any advice on those would also be appreciated. I found one good spot to catch them but would like some backup tactics.

Thanks in advance

Tanner the Bass Hater.

I havent been to CG in a few weeks but it usually fishes the same all summer. This year the water is up really high which opens up a few doors that normally arent there. The grass patches should be up in deeper water(9feet). Fish those in mornings and evenings and save your "tried and true" spots for middle of the day. After the sun is up dont forget about the west bank, the dam, and the bluff wall. Plenty of bass to hate on down there.
And most importantly save a night or two to drive over to Dorena!

We had a tourney on their last year and the team that kicked everbodies but was fishing the creek bed (main one) that feeds the lake. They where actually carolina rigggin' Senkos and dragging the senkos off the creek channel brake.

It sounded like they where in about 16' of water and the creek ended up around 30'.

Good luck!
