Default Thanks for springer tips

I just wanted to mention a couple of springer tips that I got off this web site. There not new tips but maybe to some new Ifishers they are. I don't remember who gave these tips but I want to belatedly thank them.
The tip said to take off the center hook of the kwikfish and attach the rear hook with a snap ring, swivel and snap ring. I also switch to owner hooks. Personaly I think it is a great tip. It makes it easier to bait wrap and easier to unhook natives. I use it exclusively when anchored up and the hookup rates are very high.
The other tip I read one day and then went fishing the next day. We were trolling the Willamette with hearing and my friends pole starts bobbing now and again like the weights hitting the bottom. I said "Tom are you hitting the bottom?" He said "No we're in 44 feet of water and I'm 22 pulls out." In that instant I remembered the tip. When this lite bite happens give him some line and when you think you have given enough line give some more and then some more. That's just what Tom did and he ended up with a bright 20 pound springer. Thanks again for the great tips. I can't wait to get out this year and use them again.
I welcome any new or old tips.
