With all the new poker craze on T.V. - Texas hold'em, I was wondering if anyone can recommend some good, better, best sites to play??

Re: Online Poker??
The 2 best are party poker and pokerstars. I would recommend pokerstars.com.

Re: Online Poker??
I got a computer game for X-mas and it is so slow to play it drives me crazy. Cant see the people to get a read on them like live poker.
I have not tried the online poker. When you enter a game, are you forced to stay thru the whole game no matter how long it takes, or can you play for an hour or two and then check out?

You can check out whenever you want. Most of it is just continual play like you would do at a casino unless you actually do a tournament. Pokerstars.com is really good for tournament play. If not doing tournaments, I like ultimatebet as well.

Re: Online Poker??
I have a question for those who play for real money online, How well do you actually do, I have never won a dime playing for the real stuff online, but i am a decent(usually go away with a few bucks more than I started) poker player at a real table. I really have a hard time with the fact that i might be getting hustled by 3 or 4 guys with laptops, and wireless connections, sitting next to each other, and running a table. ??

Re: Online Poker??
I have cashed out several times on Partypoker.com. If you ever deposit money into your account, and then stop using it whether you lose it or have cashed out, after a period of non use, they will sometimes give you real money that must be played out within the month. The idea that they want you to play again and maybe deposit some after losing the $. It can't be cashed out until you play a specified number of raked hands. I turned that $20 into over $200. CASHOUT. You also get all kind of deposit bonuses. Your first deposit should get a 20% increase. If you refer a friend, and they make a deposit, you get like $50. Check it out

Re: Online Poker??
Don't trust the online poker for money. Never heard of anyone really winning. Heck Spirit Mountain is too close. If you just want to play for fun, Pogo.com has Texas Hold um. and others.

Re: Online Poker??
I like TruePoker... the game plays at a pretty "real" speed. The graphics are pretty mellow and visually appealing and they have Real and Play money servers. They run tournys and have ongoing tables. I have tried several and always gone back, including some of those mentioned above. The trouble with online, especially play-money is that some folks are just (insert insult of choice here) and don't play the game - they're playing chips... which with play money is just stupid to me...
Makes a nice diversion.

Re: Online Poker??
www.pokerstars.com
they have fake money tourneys that sattelite into real money tourneys so it doents cost you anything as long as you can beat out about 45,000 other people. Never played with real money online but the fake money is fun to play with and gets you used to the site and the way everything works.

Re: Online Poker??
I like pokerstars.
The sites are a lot more secure than you think. I tried to play a table with my laptop and my PC, but somehow the site knew what was going on and wouldn't let me log on 2 computers at once. There could be some hustles going on, but I have beaten them if they are.
As far as money goes I am by no means a pro, but I made a little over $1300.00 last year playing online.
