Default Trailer Liscence Plates??

Well after 5 years away, Im moving back to Oregon. Yipee!!! Whats the current deal with liscence plates for boat trailers?
I remember I didn't need one for my drift boat, but I have a motor boat now, and I seem to remember something about needing plates if the boat was a certain weight. I looked all over the DMV website and can't find anything, so I figure you guys must know. Thanks in advance.

Also I can't wait ro fish!!! See you soon!!!!

From a DMV search:
http://egov.oregon.gov/ODOT/DMV/vehicle/trailer.shtml

Recreational Trailers & Campers
Registering & Titling Trailers
You do not have to register a utility trailer, boat trailer, or horse trailer if it is less than 1,800 pounds "loaded weight" (the weight transmitted to the road, through an axle or set of axles when the vehicle is fully loaded). However, you may wish to title these trailers because most law enforcement agencies and insurance companies want to see proof of ownership if it is ever stolen.

* Application: Fill out the Application for Title and Registration of Manufactured Structures and Non-Motorized Vehicles.
* Registration fees: $81.00 for the first 10 feet and $6.75 for each additional full foot. If the trailer or camper does not already have a registration plate, a plate fee also is required (see registration fee page for plate fees). The camper and travel trailer fee chart will help you to determine the correct fee. Campers and travel trailers are registered for a two-year period.

One registration plate is issued and is required to be displayed on the rear of the travel trailer or camper.

Any application for title must include the title fee and any other applicable fees.

a boat trailer is a utility trailer not a recreational trailer so the fee is a lot less than a rv trailer would be

The law states a when a certain weight is reached the trailor needs a license. Since you've been away for awhile you will also need a boaters license if your motor is over 10hp. The answer to your question is also located in the boaters manual. Sorry I couldn't be more specific but you'll find what you need in the manual.

it goes by wieght if over 1800 pounds, but if you travel out of state then you are required oregoon plates for outside of the state so if you take your drift boat into wash then you are liable for a ticket no matter what the wieght is.
this is my understanding
