Default How to tie a Shrimp fly rig ?

Hi, I am trying to tie-up some shrimp fly rigs for bottom fishing. I have purchased the pre-ties before, the ones that are about 30" of leader and have 3 or so shrimp flys tied off on loops. The problem is I cannot seem to get the loop knot figuered out ? The rig has the 3 or so loops that hang off of the main leader about 3" this is where the shrimp fly is looped on. I hope I have painted a picture so someone can help me. I have looked all over the web and come up empty. Thanks alot. Ken

Last time I looked at one it was just a simple overhand knot.

Hello,

Tuna Tom here. It is an easy tie to show if you are standing right next to me. It is impossible to expalin via e-mail. It helps to be watching over your shoulder while you are learning.

I see you live in Salem. I live in the Portland area...Lake Oswego. I'd be glad to show you how from tying the actual flies to tying the actual rigs. By the way there are various ways to work those flies to target specific spiecies, off set your hooks, etc. Feel free to contact me if you care to.

Tuna Tom again,

I see a great diagram has been posted. I've always like three twist...it seems to avoid the line cutting through itself just as well as six twist and is quicker and easier. You can also tie a bigger loop and cut one end off and then snell a flie on. A bare hook with a mister twister tail works as well. If you go with straight nylon for leader, the flies really stand out off the main line.
