Default Quick Alsea Update

Visited the Alsea yesterday after seeing the water levels shot up. I fished it from about 2pm until dark, as the water started dropping. Ended up seeing 1 fish being reeled in near the N.F. hatchery, heard of 1 other caught, and a couple splashed around in front of me near Clemmens Park. Went through most of the gear in the vest, but I didn't even get a bite.

In short, the Alsea is still slow, but has picked up a bit in the last couple weeks. From the reports, about 1/2, if not a little more, of the expected hatchery fish have already returned to the hatcheries and a few have been placed back in the river a couple times already.

We went to the Alsea today. Water was perfect, and quite a few boats, and lots of folks banking it. Talked to 5 DB's, and 3 of them had fish in the box. Did not see any taken by bankies, that goes for me too. It was a beautiful day, and was a pleasure to fish a new river. We had a great time!!
