What brand of outboard?

I have a Mercury, and the best for it is probably Quicksilver, but I use Havoline!

Any quality 2 stroke oil will work. I use Lubraplate lower unit lube in my lower units. As far as sparkplugs, I change mine often and go for whatever is cheap

I have always been told to use the same brand oil as your motor. If it is Mercury then use Merc oil. I have a Mercury and It's hard paying $14.99 a gallon when you can find Valvoline 2sroke on a steal at Schucks for $7.99/gallon. It seams to work fine. Mine smokes a bit less w/ the Merc oil. Smoke or Money. As far as lowerend ditto what Keta said.

I run Mercury outboards and I use Quicksilver lubricant products. I tried a aftermarket brands of oil for awhile but I started having motor problems. And I just couldn't convince myself that the brand of oil and the problems weren't connected.

As far as sparkplugs go I use only NGK.And have since 1992. I worked in the autoparts business for 27 years and have used every brand of plug on the market (free samples) But I have never had a premature failure of a NGK.
