Default saftey story, plus fish report

I had to learn the hard way about this, and thought I would share my drama.
I got to my fishin spot this morning and put on my hip boots. Reached into the truck to grab my vest, and when I grabbed it, something sliced my thumb wide open right down the middle...ouch. Not having a first aid kit, or even a band aid, no towel, no nothin, I wrapped some yarn around my thumb to keep the cut closed. Now what? I just got here, and now i'm wounded and can't even press the thumbar to cast. Arrgg..I decided I better get home to clean this out etc..So I get home and wash/wrap my thumb...look into my vest and realize what got me. I had left a jar of eggs in the big back zipper pocket..some how the jar broke, and there was glass all over in there..that's where I grabbed the vest...so the saftey tip, is to use plastic containers, or don't leave the glass jar in the vest.

Fish report:
So I get my vest all cleanded up, and now I'm bored...I test out my thumb's condition by pressing the thumbar on the ole baitcaster a few times....ahh it don't hurt that bad...i'm goin fishin. So, I fished the EFL from 2pm - 5pm. Lost one on eggs/corky. Minutes later another person shows up and immediately hooks a big summer fish...eventually broke off. Water was movin, but very clear, and fishable.

Ouch. :depressed: Sorry about your thumb.

I've had a few close encounters but not with glass. Thanks for the tip and I hope you heal up soon.

I do it all the time with my Rag threading needles stuck in my vest. One of these days I will figure out a better place to put them

My Dad taught me to keep a couple of band aids in my wallet.
