Where to weigh your boat?
I wanted to load my boat up for a typical fishing trip and find out how much it weighs with the all the fuel, gear, and other goodies, etc..
Has anyone done this? If so, where did you go? I thought about going to the Oregon City Garbage Transfer station but I'm not sure they would appreciate me using their scales......

I use the one on Hwy 30, but it's pretty far towards Astoria.

Re: Where to weigh your boat?
Highway 26 Eastbound....there is an unmanned weigh station east of the 26/6 junction.
Drive on it with the truck off the scale(only boat on scale). The numbers will show ya just on a reader board ahead of you. Last year had fun hopping out of the car(on the scale)and walking off the scale to see the difference :grin:judyfish99

Re: Where to weigh your boat?
When you're in Eugene, head over to Clear Lake Road, between Hwy 99 and Green Hill Road just southeast of the Airport. The open Truck Scales are on the East Bound lane, without room to flick a u-ee with a trailer. I line-er up comming at it from the Airport. It's easy to miss it, cause there isn't a Weight Shack, just a drive through.

Re: Where to weigh your boat?
Frito Lay in Vancouver has a scale as does the CRC on 117th (Columbia resorce center...the dump) the other place I have scaled is on I=5 north outside of ridgefield. Oh yeah there is a free unmaned scale just past the Long view bridge on 30 before you go up the big hill into clatskanie.
Good luck

I second the 212 scale. If the lady is there she will help you and is very nice.

I have used the scale at Rocky Point on Hwy 30 between Linnton and Scapoose.

Re: Where to weigh your boat?
Just about every ODOT weigh station leaves their scales turned on 24/7, so you can weigh your vehicle(s) whether the station is manned or not.
If the scale is not open for truck weighing, you can also check how much weight is on your tongue/hitch.

Re: Where to weigh your boat?
Nemo,
I-5 at the Aurora exit, take Elhen Rd westbound (towards St. Paul) for about a mile, there are both east bound and west bound unmanned scales that for trucks heading on and off the freeway. If you pass Butteville Rd., you have gone too far.
I'd give the trucks the right-a-way, but the scales aren't that busy. It would be about 20 minutes further than the Oregon City Transfer Station.

Re: Where to weigh your boat?
Should be able to go down to the truck stops in Troutdale and get it weighed. Or like mentioned before stop at a weigh staion if you are out and see one.
