I drifted from a few miles above Elkton, down to Elkton today. Saw one caught, had one good take down that broke me off, talked to about 5 other boats with no fish. Pretty slow today. Good luck!

I talked to a friend who guides the Umpqua and he said he was having double digit days on the main. He suggested if I was going to fish from the bank to fish Stanton Park area on the south. Most of these early fish are hatchery fish from the south and this is probably your best bet from the bank. On the other hand, I stopped at the Winchester dam(North Umpqua) last weekend and saw a fair amount of fish in the veiwing area. Hope this doesn't confuse you more. Good luck.

Drifted from Elkton today (Sat), the conditions seemed ideal to me but got a goose eeg. The other anglers seemed to be having similar luck.

The South has been surprising slow for hatchery fish. Don't know why, they should be there. A few wild fish around. Not gang busters at all.

I'm hearing of a few hatchery fish up the North. Probably South fish that made a wrong turn to go back to the hatchery.
