Default Driffing corkies - Ideal presentation height?

Was fishing on the Washougal on Saturday and didn't see any action... water seemed to be moving pretty swiftly. Was drifting on a ~18" leader and running a pink worm with two pink corkies. I was running just one but it was only a few inches off the bottom so I was trying to get it up off the bottom just a few more inches... Should I run a longer leader to get the bait up off the bottom further? What would be the ideal height for presentation to shoot for?
