Default hard to walk away

Drooled over many a boat at the show last night. It was hard to walk away until I remembered my Little Cindy Lou is paid for. . Interesting show and not crowded at all. Saw Corirod pedaling for Staff Jennings and he said it was a pretty slow show so far. Not much on the crowd side.

I walked away lusting over several boats that were well out of my price range but sure had me thinking. I know I could buy one but then I figured I'd be living on it since my wife most likely would give me the boot. She needs a new car before I get a new boat so I guess the boat show was just some good walking exercise.

I am looking to buy a new fish finder before the season starts this year.

Did you notice any dealers selling Furuno stuff? I have the impression that there aren't many booths this year and it may be a waste of time to go.

Rodgers marine had a booth with marine electronics but that was about it for vendors.

I went to the show, walked around looking around at all the pretty transoms, I tended to like the boats with bigger bows than the smaller ones. Some of the boats had nice tops, but the topless ones tended to catch my attention. I laid a couple $10 bills on the counter of an upholstery place and ended up with a couple drift socks, 3 more singles got me a bag of popcorn :lurk:

I finally came home after looking at all the eye candy and my old girl was sitting in the driveway waiting for me.

Owning a boat is a lot like marriage, you might as well just keep the first one, there really isnt much difference between them, and in the long run the first one is cheaper.

I too looked at all the pretty boats at the show. Once I looked at all the pretty price tags though, I walked away thinking that there wasn't a boat in there that I would rather have than mine!

I have to say I was really disappointed with the staff at the Rogers Marine booth. I went to the show with my checkbook in hand prepared to possibly find a deal on a new high-power color sounder to replace my Si-Tex 106. I literally stood around the Rogers booth for almost 10 minutes waiting for someone to talk to me. Two of the staff that was there were very interested in talking to an older gentleman that was very nicely dressed, but neither could find time to break away and ask if I needed help.

I suppose jeans and a wind breaker doesn't make me look like I'm ready to break out a boat buck. I ended up walking away without ever being spoken to.

We then walked over to the North River display, and my dad promptly bought a new Yami trolling motor for his boat. They were VERY helpful, and have some sweet deals running on kickers!

Guess I'll buy my sounder online, at boatersworld, or at West Marine.

I was at Rogers this week for a new transducer and they had display units on sale.

Not sure if they have what you are looking for...

Marty B was the guy I dealt with and seemed ok...but they sure don't give anything away there!

Nalu ,I did the exact same thing at the Rogers booth but I did go back two more times with the same results.

Just got home. Same reaction as last couple of years. After looking at all of the shiney boats, came away appreciating what I have even more... its PAID for!.

It was nice to see Rod working his booth. Hope he does VERY well.

Thought there would be more venders for after market boat jewlery??? Guess not. I did enjoy looking at all of the various styles and makes though. Makes me wish mine would get here sooner. 101 days to go.

BOE: My wife disagreed with you. She said it was alright to upgrade to a bigger and better boat with additional comforts and more versatility.
