Pink Worms for Steelhead
I saw the posting from BRshooter with two great steelhead, and what looked like a pink worm and corky rigged up. Can anyone clarify what exactly these pink worms are. I have been hearing a lot about them, but no one I talk to seems to point to the same brand, style, size. Also, What's the best way for a bank fisherman to rig up? Thanks

Re: Pink Worms for Steelhead
try a search on the site for 'pink worm'
there should be info on them somewhere.
They are deadly for steelhead in BC and I think given the right conditions, good around here as well

Re: Pink Worms for Steelhead
Ihave started using them with success. I win't say the way i rig them is the right way but i will say that the one day i rigged them like this I caught 2 steelhead.
1. fisht of all i bought seducer brand worms i think they are 4 inchers. and are straight
2. take a pre-tied leader and thread a small pink pearl corkie on it. This keeps the worm from ripping all the time
3. push a bait threader through about 2/3's of the length of the worm starting near the tail
4. thread the worm onto your leader and slide it carefully down to the corkie against the hook.
pretty simple really and lasts a ton longer than a bait of eggs

Re: Pink Worms for Steelhead
Thanks for the info. Pink worms are hard to find this time of year. Anything that resembles bubblegum on the shelf is cleared out.

Those pink worms don't work.
I am tired of my wife outfishing me, so I rigged her up with the pink worm today. Figured I would have a chance.
Pink worm 1 for 1.

Re: Pink Worms for Steelhead
Corkie Monster, did you rig your pink worms as Rob Allen explained. Mr. Vedder is your article in the current issue of STS. Thanks in advance for the input.

Slade: My name is Dave. Mr. Vedder was my father.
No, the article I just finished will not be out for several months. But there have been some great discussions of pink worm fishing /rigging on this board. Do a search.

Re: Pink Worms for Steelhead
There are a lot of different pink worms out there. Just buy several packs in different colors from different manufactures and you should have a good start. Thanks for all the good articles in STS Dave. BTW I need to call Nick and tell him not to make the magazine so good as someone stole my latest one out of the mail box So I had to go buy one off the newstand at regular price. May have to get a PO Box.
