Default canned tuna

Went to Newport this week and ventured into a fish market. They had canned Albacore tuna for sale. It seemed pricey, but after hearing you all rave about tuna, I bought a can. Boy, I wish I had bought more. Now I know what you all talk about. I know it isn't exactly fresh, but I am sure it is fresher than the store tuna. Very, very yummy!!!

If you have a chance, try canning it in glass jars, even better!! Plus you can add what you want (I do not add anything). judyfish99

The secret, High Arc, is to find yourself a seat on a Salty Dog boat and catchum and canum yourself. Ain't nothin' like it!

Come on down to the Salty Dog convention at the end of this month and meet the guys and gals and learn why we're so rabid about this sport. And rabid is the right word. Why they got me so infected I bought a boat before I'd ever even caught one!

Come join us!

I have thought about it, but I might bring along too much chum . I have never been out in big blue except for some whale watching out of Depot Bay and a cruise to Mexico. I will say, whenever I get discouraged reading the main board, I find myself reading all of your guys' posts. The amount of brotherhood and sharing on this board is second to none.

I will second that one.

I really enjoy reading the Salty Board. Experienced, calm, sage advise, well thought replys, near zero flames and a generousity of spirit and comradery rarely found on the main board.

Nothing but respect from me for Dogs.

What other Board??? I must be missing something as this is my only board.
Someone mentioned other fish in the sea to besides tuna. I had to correct them.
Oh I get it there are other boards for other types of fisherman- the freshwater types. i have not heard of tuna yet being pulled from rivers so why try?? Mark

True story.
The salty dogs got together and actually sent me a bunch of home canned. It was sufficient to distroy our (myself , my wife and kids ) ability to even purchase a can of store bought tuna(cat food), let alone actually eat some .
I was fortunate enough to have just purchased a new tuna
worthy boat and Im now just waitting for the chance to restock the shelves with the good stuff.

This Lady almost cries every time we give her fresh fish that we bring back. And when we give her crab She looks like she is about to cry. Fresh cought is the best!!

If you are interested in some really *fresh* tuna ... day caught, iced on the boat, bled
and taken care of really *really* well ... I just might know somebody who could set you
up with some fish this summer without *you* ever having to go out on a boat.

Seriously, if you want to can tuna this summer, I have a commercial fishing boat and I sell
fish off the dock at Depoe Bay. If'n you'd like more information, please feel free to send
me a PM and I'll get back to you ASAP.

Thanks,
~assAssin~
