East Fork Lewis Report

Fish the East Fork of the Lewis today. 12/31/04 Although the river is in excellent shape, there are seemingly no fish in the river. Plenty of fishermen, but not a fish to be seen or heard. We tried every steelie fly imaginable, but nothing.

Fish the North Fork of the Lewis earlier in the week. Plenty of steelhead in that river. Plenty of boats and gear guys too.

Any other SW Washington reports?

There are fish around, trust me! The EFL has been fishing exceptionally well this year so far. But, since Winter fish (especially hatchery fish) move through the system rather quickly, they can literally be present one day in a particular run and gone the next. For instance, I know from looking on other BB's that the fish were on the grab on 12/30. I know from personal experience that they were really on the grab on the 7th of December.

Keep at it. When you hit the river right, she's been very kind this year!
