Wonder what it would be worth if it was a 10, rather than the slighlty used 9 condition?

Re: $7,000 Fly reel - Bid before its too late
Wow! Opening bid was $99 and immediately went to $5000. Presently at $7599 with 2.33 days left in the auction. I have never understood why people bid up the price so early in the process. When I see something that I am seriously interested in buying, I will watch the item until just prior to the end. If it is still in my acceptable price range, I place my proxy bid within the last minute. I have NEVER lost an auction on E-bay with this method, but I know that there will come a time!

Re: $7,000 Fly reel - Bid before its too late
I actually have one of these...I bought it from a guy that ran a parking garage in Seattle. He found it in the attic with a bunch of other fly fishing equipment. I paid him $20 for the whole bunch and almost didn't take the reel because it did'nt look all that special. I took it into Kaufman's and they told me what I had and that the last thing I should do is fish with it...I don't think it was ever used more than once or twice and it was also rated a 9 condition.
If there is a down side to this whole thing is that I passed on about 4 bamboo fly rods...that I am sure also held considerable value.
I may have to consider selling this dude...anybody interested

I'll give you $25! That's a $5 profit on the whole batch!

Look at the price it sold for $10457.88
Thats nuts. Ya could buy a brand new drift boat and a few sage rods for that!
Must be nice to be able to waste that kind of change.

It is the wedding cake No. 4 and I haven't even looked at it for a couple of years...it is stored in my gun safe, but I would be happy to post a picture just for grins.
