Yamaha Multi Tac ?
Any Yami owners out there have an opinion of these. I'm leaning on having one put on, but would like to get some idea of what others think.
Thanks

Re: Yamaha Multi Tac ?
Are you talking about the one with the tach, tilt meter, hour meter and trip meter, oil level, warning lamps and overheat warning lamp? We had one put in our boat and really like it. The trim tilt meter is what we really use the most.

Re: Yamaha Multi Tac ?
I just ordered one for my NorthRiver that is being deivered in the next couple of months. My initial thought when I saw the price was . After it was explained to me what it was and the functions it has I'm glad I ordered it.

Re: Yamaha Multi Tac ?
If you look at the price Yamaha wants just for the part and then add installation on top of that, you really are getting a good deal at NR!!

Re: Yamaha Multi Tac ?
I installed mine last year with the matching fuel flow meter. Frankly, I don't find it useful enough for the money and wouldn't do it again. The trim gauge is no more accurate than the cheapo that came with the boat. The RPM gauge is more accurate, but truly not any more helpful than the stock gauges, They look good together though....The fuel meter however is fantastic.

Re: Yamaha Multi Tac ?
Dipnet & Gimmeumpqua
I have a multi-tach in an Intruder for the F150.The folks that installed it are not real familiar with Yamaha's so I have a couple of questions.
Did you get any documentation that was separate from the engine user manual for your multi-tach?
Does the multi-tach have a back light for operating at night?
Thanks

Re: Yamaha Multi Tac ?
Thanks for the info. I've decided on having NR put it on when they install my motors in few weeks. Didn't think about the fuel flow meter, but that will be installed as well.

Re: Yamaha Multi Tac ?
Kurt - is the fuel flow meter more accurate than the standard gas gauge? I can never tell exactly how much gas I have when I am on the water. I have been thinking about getting a fuel flow meter. What kind did you get and what was the cost? Thanks Craig
I have the multi tac on my 115 pump and I really don't use it much. In fact I could do without it. I really don't have a need to trim my engine so I never look at that feature. I do like the hour meter - but like I say I could do without. Craig

Re: Yamaha Multi Tac ?
6wapiti6,
I've found mine to be useful, it also has the Hour Meter, which allowed me to replace the Analog Hour Meter hole in my dash with a Flo-Scan Fuel Flow Meter.
One thing you might want to check before you leave NR is that they connected your Light Switch to the Multi-Tach. I found out the hardway that they forgot to wire mine up, and I had no backlight on mine when motoring back a dark thirty! I fixed it myself as NR is an 7hr (one way) drive for me.

Re: Yamaha Multi Tac ?
Didn't get any book with it, and yes, it does have a back-light.

Re: Yamaha Multi Tac ?
There is no user manual for the MultiTac, I think the instructions are in the owner's manual for the motor. And yes, the fuel flow meter is much more accurate than the fuel gauge.

Re: Yamaha Multi Tac ?
Thanks all,
I will be hooking up the blue wire to the dash lights. It sure is a dark black gage at night without a light.
