Default Kalama/Modrow break-in.

hey folks,

don't post much and i'm not trying to freak anyone out or anything, but figured i'd throw this up, for what it's worth...

floated from pritchard's to modrow yesterday and came back to find my truck's canopy (with double locks, no less) pried open. two pyramid anchors and a loop fly rod tube were stolen. not a huge loss and the canopy door was repairable, but thought i'd mention it to anyone headed there so the same doesn't happen.

despite the glass at the landing (which i noticed after the fact) my friend's dad, who's been fishing the kalama for more than 30 years, said that's the first time he's seen it at modrow. both good and bad news, i suppose. hoping posts like this reminding people to park in plain view near the road and NOT have anything visible might make the boat landings less of a target.

also, i reported it to the cowlitz county sheriff and would encourage others to do the same. with enough calls, maybe they'll patrol the landings a bit more.

hope you all have a great new year,

bacon.

PS: went 6 for 9. primarily jig fishing, but we did stick two on swinging flies.

Not surprised at all. I have got it before on the Kalama up at deadline... I have a hunch the crakner thieves live in the wonderful housing district of MaHaffey's camp ground.

Thanks for the heads up... WHATEVER you do, report this to Pritchards and Wayne will put the heads up in the fishing report.
