Default Trask fishing, yesterday--

Besides this adventure... I saw a couple ifish stickers on trucks, up the Trask. It's always fun to see that!

Who wuzzit?

I'm never going there alone, again, though!

YIKES! Cougars and tigers and bears, OH MY!

It was a kitty report. Sorry, wrong board.
OK, here is my report on the Trask:

Fished. Nada. Nothing. Zip!

Fished the upper Trask with jig and bobber. Nada. Nothing. Zip!

Fished the Kilchis before I left. 10 pound native hen on a light pink jig. Shoulda stayed home!
Fished the Kilchis this morning, hard. Bobber and jig, then drifted a plastic egg cluster hook that someone gave me. Nada. Put a pink worm tail on it. Nada. Put scent on it. Nada. Put salad shrimp on it. (Ran out of sandshrimp) Nada.

Tried a spinner. Nada.

I don't get it! The Kilchis looks beautiful. I'm having sorry luck this year!

Fish and Game reports have the Mountain Lion (Cougar) populations on the rise. Combine that with increased pressure on existing habitat and it's bound to happen. :depressed:

While fly fishing in Wyoming I have seen several Cougars, Black Bears, and even Wolverenes but never had one get that close. You were deffinately a target for that cat to get that close. You did the right thing up to running away. You want to get as big and loud as you can and back "slowly" away. You don't want to trigger the cat's chase instinct. He probably felt you were more of a threat to his meat supply than an actual meal but wow, what an experience.

Wow, scary experience. I have wondered how many times I've been watched by a cat. I sometimes get that same feeling when fishing by myself on the Trask. I'm glad to hear nothing bad happened.
