Default This Troopers Home

Ok I got your attention. My youngest has been home for a week on leave one more week to go, he leaves Sunday Jan 2nd. I have noticed many changes and no changes. Dan goes back to Pennsacola to pack for Jacksonville Fla. He goes to SERE school then to one more year of school for his vocation in air crew school hands on training in a p3 spy plane. He's the computor geek of the family. His room is a disaster since he got home just like it used to be. He's just as mouthy but in a different way, now theirs a little respect when doing so.
The promises have'nt changed. Dad I'm gonn use the shop to swap a faster engine in the CRX. My new bride said I could work on the car for 3 days. I promise I'll clean the shop just the way I found it. Tomorrow I will start the clean up. SOME OF YOU MAY REMEMBER THE POST "PRICELESS WEDDING AND FISH PICS"
Today at the family big dinner I watched him dish his plate funny how the plate was just about all sweet potatoes with marshmellows. I wonder what the navy bases have been feeding him all this time. I asked him what he missed most besides his wife he said the trees and mountains, moms cooking, Family. I saw him buy a christmas gift for his older sister, I would have never thought he would spend that kind of money on her.
I plan on taking him to Ft Canby Thursday to try our hand at crabbing. I would like to get him in a drift boat but don't have one nor am I experienced in the metal heads.
Home isn't the same since he left but we can always depend on one thing that is change.
Christmas has been good for the Meyer family, our Son is home. I'm on vacation this week with no plans just to kinda see what the week brings.
I'll reply with more of my observations.
MERRY CHRISTMAS

Thanks Keith.
Thursday I'm meeting Larry down at Ft Canby. I think I have Ashley talked into letting Dan go. Larry says he has a good spot to Crab during hi slack and incoming, also bottom fishing while we wait for the pots to fill. I know you work but I'm hoping to get him out on wed or fri also.
Ashley wants all his time, you can't blame her she could'nt move to Pennsacola to be with him due to the hurricane there was no housing down there.
Hey Southfork its been all smiles just don't tell Dan I said that.

Blue Tick,

Glad to hear your son's back on leave and able to enjoy home. Is he an AW? What seat is he going to fill? I'm sure he's heard all of the great stories about SERE school. At least he won't be doing cold weather SERE here in Maine. This time of year it's extremely cold.

The Pig-3 is quite a plane. Not glamorous, but quite capable for a 40 y/o platform. If he winds up in Maine, have him give me a shout. I bet he's hoping for Whidbey though.

Nice to hear from you. Dan is scheduled for Maine Feb 6. He gets the cold weather SERE school. He's an AWAN, Warfare systems operator. Sensor 3 whatever that is. His goal is to stay top 3 in class to get to choose Whidbey Island.
We have been blessed with his presence during the holidays. One of the projects since he got home was to drop a new motor into his CRX, 200 hp in a 1800 lb car.
Weve had a lot of young soldiers stop by during Christmas in several branches. Stories have been an eye opener. You young men and women do deserve every spiff we can offer.
He just got out of bed were off to Boaters world.

Good to hear that schools going well for him. I bet he can't wait for SERE, he'll like the cold

I don't know if I'd consider myself young or deserving of much. I'm soft in the middle and a weekend warrior. I only give the Navy 1 weekend a month 2 weeks a year now. My active duty day's were 10 years ago.

Hope boaters world was fun.
