Default Neat picture Fishbait and I took today.

For those of you who are not following the photo contest thread, I just wanted to share my entry for this year. Im pretty proud of it.

EGGSCARS PHOTO CONTEST LINK

Photo title: Slimerocket Sucking Eggs!

A joint Eggscars entry from Uglygreen and Fishbait.

Background... It took me about a month to come up with the idea of a for this photo of a live steelhead in the water hooked up on some yummy pink eggs. Once I had the concept figured out and had an idea of the method to get the photo, I had to wait for the right conditions and a willing fish. Several early attempts failed due to water visibility problems, uncooperative fish, and camera problems.

It all finally came togther today (good water, good light conditions, a cooperative fish, working batteries in the camera, and a little luck) to get the shot I wanted. Steve (Fishbait) caught the fish and Brad (Uglygreen) took the picture. Hope you like it! This one is 500 pixels wide per contest rules, but if anyone wants a larger copy for a desktop or whatever just let me know via email and I'll email one back to ya.

UG

Was that with a waterproof digital or a scanned photo from a waterproof regular camera?

Since Ug won' talk--and I got the skinny...
he uses a minolta with a deluxe waterproof case. don't know the model number, but it's the size of a cigarette pack, and takes GREAT pics--despite it's operator
What can ya say about Ug??? Aint he just the package! If I was Gay... he'd be my kind o' boy
Now for seriousness...look at the fin...you can tell it's a hatch by the deformed dorsal fin. It's evident in the photo if you look closely.
Likely it was a downriver snake
By the way fishbait--I'm still waiting for my Lamiglass baitcasting outfit for joing the "IwannabelikebigshadBradfanclub.com" I don't mind the 195.00 fee for joining, but where are the percs? Could you please send me the sticker and the autographed picure you promised ??
In the off chance that our hero actually reads this board--I love you MAN!!!!!!!

The camera is a Minolta Dimage Xi and waterproof marine case - great for rainy days and just the general dampness associated with fishing that digital cameras dont like. Now the real question is how I just took a digital picture of my digital camera?

Wildhawg - the reverse is NOT true! I can tell that your just jealous! Why don't you just go sell somebody a trailer.

(dont make me repost that picture of you and 4 springers)

UG, Fantastic shot and I vote you the winner along with everyone that see's this photo. I had often thought of taking pictures of hooked fish but never had the right equipment. The Kodac disposables just don't cut it and my Nikons don't work well in zip lock bags when under water. I only tried once.

I would love a larger copy of this for my desk top.

Yes, snapshot got his name from being a camera bug a long time ago in a land far far away.

Thanks again for sharing a great photo.

Wow, that really is a great pic. Wish I could take some of the credit, but I can't. All I did was tug on my pole when that fishie started tugging on my string. Man, I love feeling of a drift fishing bite.. Great fun fishing with brad, also nice that we were the only boat on the river. For those of you that don't know Brad very well, let me just say that he is not only one of the nicest people you will ever meet, but IMHO I think he is probably one of the most intellegent people I know. The mans a thinker. Who else do you know who has taken a picture of a snagger and his license plate. Geezzze, he even can take a picture of his camera, talk about smoke and mirrors. I hope he wins the eggskars (sp) (for the second time) Once again he has left the rest of us in his wake.

Oh, and Wildhawg, sorry about the rod. I did ship it but it came back with a note from a Nurse Cratchet saying that they did not allow you to have anything sharp or breakable. Whats up with that? Is there something you are not telling us? Perhaps I should have received a clue when your membership payment showed up in all pennies, but I just thought you were being funny.

Now for those of you that are not yet members of the be like Brad fan club, just send $19.95 to me personally and I'll sent you your membership kit. And for the first 237 people to respond, I'll include a autographed 8X10 picture (you know the one) with a paragraph on the back. So hurry, call now, operators are standing by.

Way to Go "Big Shad Brad" and "BP"!!

Way cool pic guys.

Wildhawg, you are twisted enough to sell leisure products to the elderly.

My daughter Cora want's to know if her liftime membership to the Be Like Big Shad Brad Fan Club is still going to require the monthly payment.

She's a big fan and forgave Brad for tossing her accross the boat and fishing her secret big shad spot, but the payments have used up her allowance and are dipping into her colledge fund.

Given the choice she'd rather maintain her membership than seek higher education, but maybe Fishbait could recind the attachment of her future wages and cut her a break.

Good job you two!
