Default Lower Willy Sturgeon

I had a few hours of free time this afternoon so I decided to hit the ole sturgeon hole. I hit the bank at about 12:30 this afternoon and see boats anchored in the honey hole. Oh, well I will just fish above them. I cast out my shrimp and worms and wait, it was such a nice day. The boats in the hole were hooking up left and right from what I could see but I couldn't make out what they were using. I look up and my pole is heading towards the water, fish on. I managed to land a nice fat 52" gator, my first of the year. The girlfreind erased the software for our digital camera when she clean the computer last time so sorry but no picture.

Accutally, I did get quite a bit of meat from this fish but I am sure none of it will go to waste  . I tried the whole cleaning hung over the garbage can thing, I was amazed at how well it worked, I think I need a little more practice at it though. I am gonna whip up a big ole batch of fish and chips tomorrow.

Well I hit the river today with my cousin, about the same time and same place as yesterday. We managed to hook and land several (20+) shakers but nothing in the keeper range. All the fish we caught today were on the smallish side, the biggest I would guess went no more than about 28". We hit them on shrimp and worms and the old standby pickled squid. It was kinda weird, the bite was steady for a while then it would die off for about 30 minutes then it would take off again, I have never had this happen before. Sorry but there aren't gonna be any directions to my honey hole but I will tell you its one of the few bank accessible places to fish the lower willy, that should narrow it down quite a bit. There were a ton of boats out today, didn't see any keepers landed but they were in steady action all day. Good luck.
