Default Oregon-Washington Bi-Fisheries Question

I had a friend call me tonight who was down crabbing at the coast (Astoria) and was taking his boat out in Oregon (Hammond I believe). He said a game warden came up to them as they were finishing and told him from now on that he must have an Oregon license in order to take out in Oregon. He said it was some new reg or something

I personally can not find anything on this on the net on the ODFW site. I personally believe that this cop was blowing some smoke and didn't know what he was talking about.

Anyone heard anything about this?

As of January 1 of this year, Oregon requires a shellfish license in order to crab in their waters. I don't remember offhand what the fees are but are posted on the ODFW website.

I realize there is a new shell fish license required in OR,but would a WA license be sufficient, taking out on the OR side of the river?
I don't know if this is what Mr. Carp was refering too but I have been curious about this myself.I can fish the Columbia under my WA license and still take out in OR ports,I was under the impression I could do the same with crab. All that is stated in the WA regs I can find is ...,Crab fishers may fish for crab in OR waters under OR rules and land into WA ports of the Columbia River, but I do not no if that works the other way too.

I believe that you must now carry the license of the state where landing the fish/shellfish. Just heard it, word of mouth, but have not found it in the regs.
