Default Just got back from DisneyLand

We headed down to CA with the family. We did 5 day passes and went into and out of the park twice each day (came out for naps).

We had a ball, with a 5, 3, and 1 year old we were limited on what we could do (for big rides) but we did a lot of Small World, Winnie the Pooh, and similar rides. also my 5 year old daughter had to visit Ariel 4 times... once to get her autograph and then follow up chats. My little girl had to scold Ariel for not follower her dad's directions...

We dropped a bundle and had a lot of fun... looking forward to going again.

ahh... Small world that is the longest ride in amusement park history. I’d like to find Walt Disney dig him up and ask him what were you thinking when you built that thing! Its not even fun Walt!!! Your on a boat with thirty people who just stink to high heaven cause they've been in the sun as long as you have. Your just looking for a light at the end of the tunnel...screw it I’m swimming.
Glad to hear you had a good trip, but you couldn't pay me to go on that ride ever again.

Disneyland rules, especially since they added california adventure. I've been there a dozen times and as recently as 2 years ago. On the other hand, you couldn't pay me to step foot into six flags again. That was the filthiest, most crowded waste of money I've ever spent. If it wasn't for my wife and one of my kids being monster roller coaster nuts we wouldn't have stopped anyways. Next time I'll bring the golf clubs and hit the course if they think they need to stop there.

My gal Sooz is a Disney fanatic. A real sicko. Like for example we planned our entire Europe summer trip last year around visiting Paris Disneyland. That's three out of four for her, and she is now planning a trip to Disneyland Tokyo.

I wonder how many people have been to all four? Like I said ... sicko.

I keep hoping that Disney will open another one in Sidney, Nebraska. At least I could visit Cabela's....

They really went whole hog on Xmas decorations... even the characters in a small world sing different tune... Jingle Shells, Jingle Shells. I was thinking of back trolling a kwick fish through the mermaid section but thought treble hooks weren't against the law on native mermaids

Walt got It's a small world from the world's fair in '64 I think that was the year. it was a hit there and he wanted to keep it going.

After being in the park all day you get sensory overload... music,, music, musci everywhere. There is no place to get away from it... I learned that the music never stops..even at night (pretty freaky) it just keeps playing and playing...ahhhhh..

loved it...can't wait to go back in 2 years.

Oh, and as soon as your children gets to Disneyland Tokyo there will be a new one in Hong Kong... to be done by 2006!!! Good luck.

My wife and I are heading down there next week We're taking a friends son with us he's 13 and never been there.
It should be a lot of fun. MY wife is a disney fanatic her goal is to go to all the Disney's. She's been to disney Japan and two weeks ago just got back from Euro disney.
She's been talking Orlando and now I've heard wispers of
Hong Kong.

I am the official mayor of Disneyland.
I love Disneyland with my entire being.
I could live there.
I should live there!
I'm leaving now!!!

My kids have been to Disney three times, and Disneyworld once.

I can't WAIT to go back! I'd go anytime, anywhere, anyway! Everytime I want to run away, I want to go to Disneyland!

It's the only place where there is NOTHING but happiness!
Just talking about it makes me happy happy!

I would so like to go, when we go to Palm Springs, but I don't think I can afford to take the kids out of school that long. :depressed:

But... now that we are talking about it, maybe... just maybe! How can I be an hour from Disneyland and NOT go?

WHOOO HOOOO! I'd rather go to Disneyland then fish, lately!!!

My fav thing to do is to find and purchase E tickets. That way, you can go in after closing and they only sell like 100 bracelets, or something... so it's not very busy? And you get to ride until you can't walk anymore!!!

Dang... I want to go so bad! I am SO envious!

....and...and...and....

Get there early just before it opens and a big band plays, and it makes me cry!

And and and.... then as you walk through Cinderella's castle, it makes me cry, too!

Eat turkey legs! Those things are awful, but they are cheap!

Gotta go on splash mountain 10 times in a row... If you go to Disneyworld, you have to go on the Tower of Terror 15 times in a row!

Someone talk Disney to me! I'm on a rant!

My other favorite ride is that Michael Jackson ride. What is it called? I forget!
It's a roller coaster, indoors! FUN! On E ticket night I went on that SO many times!!! Till midnight!

I've stayed around there from the Disney hotel to a cheapy place, and tell you the truth, it doesn't matter where you stay, as long as you can get in those Disney doors!

Lesseee... what else?
Someone! Quick! Talk me out of booking a flight, NOW!

All this Disneyland talk and no mention of California Adventure? It's right across the plaza and for my adult fun-meter, had way better rides. Anyone else with me on this one?

And Jennie you said Disneyland is nothing but happiness. Well, if you believe that you should never venture there during Christmas break. So crowded it was unbelievable but we were in Palm Spring so we couldn't resist. Maybe should have.

I knew I would find some disney fanatics but didn't expect you!!

Being my first time it was tough. I have had 30+ years of imagery to overcome. I expected it to be bigger, more mouse (yes there is a lot of icons) Just expected even a bigger production.. but that is what 30 years of expectations gets ya.

I found it to be very magical...when I would reenter the park in the AM, I would find it comforting and when I left I was ready for some silence. The crowds were not fun, but we managed - the last day monday was great.

We stayed at the Hyatt, nice, we had 2 bedrooms and sitting area, that allowed for sleep/nap separation for 1, 3 and 5 year olds. We learned our lesson on our last trip, spent 7 very sleepless days when attempting to get kids to sleep and stay asleep. I asked my wife...what would it be worth to you to have some sleep and actually enjoy the vacation. The answer was 10X what we spent to get the extra room ...and so we slept.

We will most likely hit Disney tokyo while in Shanghai... it is only 2 hour flight max to Japan. Then we will definitely get to HK in 2006 when it opens.

I did a search on line when I got home for "secrets of Disney" and found a bunch of hidden facts and secrets on how things work, hidden mickeys etc.. good fun for you jennie - you could probably add a few yourself.

I've always studied and gone on off times.
I'd never go when it was crowded.
However, wasn't it crowded with happy people?

People on the rides =

People in line for hours or getting rammed every 10 steps by another baby stroller loaded with 7 backpacks, 3 coolers of food, 4 extra coats, and one crying baby =

Well we thought we were going on a slow week , it was in service day for our kindergartener last thursdy, so we left last Wednesday AM. The park was busy from W-F. This week Monday was great. Maybe it wasn't that bad, I don't have a real reference - just seemed to be more people off school than I expected.

Next time I will plan during a full school week. I am sure my wife will understand me going to disney and her staying home with the kids

It had been a dream of mine for several years, to take my whole family to Disneyland.

The whole family is my husband, myself, oldest son, daughter-in-law, their two children, ages 6 and 10 and my youngest son age 26.

My dream came true last January. Five flew while the two non-fliers drove. We were there for four nights and five days.

We had a FANTASTIC time the whole time. It was by far the best time we have ever had on a family vacation!

We may “ALL” even do it again. I’m ready when they are!
