Default Halibut Hill Saturday - photo

I took Iron Trader and a friend out 26 miles from Garibaldi on Saturday. We left the dock at 6:35, and crossed a little bumpy bar. The ocean was nice - cruised at 22 mph going out and 25 mph coming back. Didn't see anyone else on the way till 22 miles out. Total of 15 boats showed up, along with Ratherbfishn. We talked of trying for tuna after Halibut, but we didn't get limits. We pulled up 3 keepers, and released a skate, shark, nice lingcod, and a small hali. We had a very large hali on, but the 80# PowerPro broke at about 300 ft left. I think a shark bit the line, since it was frayed at the break. Most were caught using herring.

Here is the catch 37, 35, & 33: (Iron Trader on Right).

Nice to run into Ifisher Ratherbfishn.

Good job on the Butts'...I've been procrastinating putting the boat away, hoping for another venture into the Salt.

Thanks for the report!

Yup, Skipper finds fish! Here's the photo I owed you from Ifishstock (that's Lancethefisher hiding in the back):

and since I finally got around to learning how to post photos, here's the gator I caught while I was talking to you the other day:

Dude, there's a fish stuck to your back! I have heard of a good sturgeon bite, but never got one using myself as bait.
