I geuss I mean Sand shrimp, eggs, worms versus lures and jigs and corkies. River set ups mainly.

I prefer artificial for steelhead, but there are times when a juicy sandshrimp can open thier jaws a little wider!

Eggs 1st choice for drifting or bobber and bobber jigs.
second- sandshrimp while drifting, bobber, diver, or plunked with spin-glo
3rd..corkies, cheaters, mini spin-glos, etc, etc, etc.

water flow, current, holes, tailouts, all will be fished differently and effectively with a variety of choices...but if available home cured eggs!!!

It depends on conditions. And how cold my hands are.

Bait will put more fish on the bank than drift gear in coldish water. But in 55 degree water, it aint needed. It just depends.

Mark and the dog.
