sturgeon/salmon guides

Hello all -

I'm sure I'll get some good feedback on this inquiry, hopefully not too biased.

I'm from Philadelphia (go Eagles!!!) and I am planning a trip in the OR/ID/WA region. I hope to do a guided sturgeon/salmon trip on the Columbia river somewhere during late May or early June. Initially I was going to go to British Columbia and a get a guide for the Fraser river, but I was told opportunities for huge strugeon would be better on the Columbia in OR.


Could anyone recommend a guide that could offer a dual, 8 hour salmon/sturgeon guided trip? There will be three of us and we hope to pay no more than $200 a person. Any info would be fantastic!

I'd recommend Joe Salvey with Fish Hawk Adventures.

Joe is a first class guy. He offered a free guided trip to a boy with leukemia, his dad, his brother, and me in fall of 2002. We had to cancel, but I can tell you I've heard he is a fishing machine on the Columbia.
