Default Perfect Timing!!

Well as I sit here and read all these great posts about all the fish being caught I figure great lets go. Out to the boat hook it up go to raise the motor and nothing!! :depressed: Wont move at all. Well not being the person to go out without a perfect working boat I was bummed. I just know if I tempted it I would get into a situation where I needed to tilt the motor and I would be outta luck. If my luck holds they should be closing urb chinook bout the time I get my boat back. Oh well just needed to vent. As they say B.O.A.T. Break out another Thousand... Tim

fishinfool, I am in the same boat(sorta speaking). I thought that my starter in the big motor was OK. The bendix is now toast along with the rest of it. :depressed: I am like you, don't want to go unless the boat is at 100%. The new starter is an aftermarket which is suppose to be better than a Mecury part (I have a '92 Mariner 90 hp). What do I know? I am a woman...at the mercy of men. I am crying, too. What else can happen? Water impeller? Maybe we should take lessons from the Salty Dogs, they do get together meetings and is well organized. I am sure ODFW has their mind made up already when I am not... judyfish99

Well, I finally got my motor running OK and ran up and down the Willamette burning up last years gas, ready to hit the Buoy 10 fishery ... only to find a surprising amount of water in the boat. Hull rot (wood) - time for a new boat. Anyone need a hobby project? I've done more than enough.

Man, I'm with ya. Yesterday, I beat back a cold enough so that by late afternoon I'm psyched to hit the URB action and try the evening's top-of-the-tide run-out. We get to the boat ramp, unload, tie-off to the dock and discover - COMPLETE and TOTAl electrical malfunction of everything but the motor starting circuit. Wow, that's a first. No fishing for us tonight.

Back home. An hour with the dash pulled apart, colorful electrical spaghetti, voltmeter, circuit jumpers, etc, and I'm totally stymied. More clueless than usual.

Fortunately, after sleeping on the problem the solution came to me. A quick before-work test verified the fix. Tonite I should have the two problem areas repaired and be able to fish Friday if it's our last day of URB fishing.
