Batteries in the fridge
I'm spending my two weeks of vacation this year doing a remodel project on the house, details will be posted once the project is done. Anyway, yesterday while cutting in a new window (a job I really should have borrowed a sawzall for), neither of my 18 volt rechargeable batteries was giving as much oomph as I was, so I had to resort to my corded jigsaw which was slow and a huge pain to work with. One thing I've noticed is that the circular saw really heats up the batteries. Once they're hot, they don't put out the necessary kick, nor will they recharge. So, I've resorted to putting them in the fridge when not in use and between charging cycles. I leave them out at the end of the day so they sit at room temperature.
Is this good or bad for them? While two batteries once seemed like enough juice for my cordless toolset, I'm wondering if I should pick up a couple more just so I have enough cordless juice to go around.
